Days 1&2

I missed out on talking about Romans yesterday because my computer was on the fritz so I'm going to talk about both Romans and Genesis. I apologize in advance for any typos or points that didn't really go anywhere, its late, I'm tired and this is just what happens.

For me one of my biggest junctures in my walk with God is I justify the grey areas. I like to play the whole "Well the Bible doesn't say its wrong" so for me Romans was the sucker punch from God I'd been looking for. Romans 1:18-32 just goes to show God knows what your doing and it is on you to deny yourself and follow him. There is no excuse, scripture says;

"For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares."
Romans 2:13-16

Even if its not in the Bible or we haven't seen it in the Bible we know the difference between right, because we all have the spirit of God in us. Therefore we have no excuse for justifying our sinful nature. Its wrong, you know its wrong, and everytime you do it you are choosing yourself OVER God.

It surprised me but I got a similar message out of Genesis, granted that may be because its what I'm looking for but it helped all the same. In the Garden of Eden the serpent said to Eve "Did God realllllly say not to eat from that tree?" and Eve knew she was wrong but she did it anyway and what happened? Her and Adam HID from God. They knew they were wrong and they ran from God. But God knew what they did, yet in his grace he stilled asked "Who told you that you are naked?" That, along with the rest of Genesis was very humbling. I really enjoyed just sitting and reading about the creation of the Earth. Because after every milestone God saw that it was good. He didn't just throw it all together, God made sure what he did was good and done right. Then just to think that he made US in that image, that makes it alot more encouraging to make sure that the next time I go to work at the end of the job I stop to see that it is good.
